What is the benefit of six fold tie?
This method of sewing a tie is very complicated and not used for decades now in mass production, as it requires precision and lots of handwork. But the best and tops labels of haute.couture still offer these ties for very high prices (of course, they are silk, still 300€ is a lot ). Why? Because without any doubt, a six fold tie is much more comfortable to weat as it´s souple, well flowing and light. It is also more persistant - the grain of fabrics in layers will endure much longer then simple one layer ties.

Why cotton?
As I said, the best ties are made of silk and are worn to the best occasions. But cotton, without shine and sparkle, provides several benefits. You may wear it casualy without looking overdressed (with a polo shirt, non formal shirt, with history costumes and so on), feel comfortable and what more - unlike the delicate silk, you may reasonably wash and iron this tie without worrying about demage.
